About Us

Owner of Pillar Acupuncture and a long time Pacific Northwest resident, Kuong Wang DACM, MAcOM, LAc, EAMP, is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner in both WA and OR.  Upon receiving his Master’s degree (MAcOM) from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM), Kuong spent two months volunteering in a rural village outside of Kathmandu, Nepal. During that intensive clinic practice, Kuong provided free medical care to over 600 patients and taught medical and acupuncture related classes to all the interpreters.  Some of the common medical issues Kuong treated a variety of musculoskeletal conditions such as neck and shoulder stiffness/pain, back pain, knee pain, and heel pain.  Other commonly seen conditions involved high blood pressure, stress, gastritis, and diabetes.

The experience from Nepal reaffirms Kuong’s desire to create a clinic that serves and to better our community.  Kuong utilizes a combined approach of eastern and western medicines with his treatments.  He has special interests in men’s health, Parkinson’s disease, as well as musculoskeletal, auto accident, and sports related injuries.  His goals are to increase public awareness of the benefits of acupuncture care and to establish a diversified practice.

In addition to building his private practice, Kuong was determined to further his education and knowledge to be more integrated with the modern healthcare system by completing his doctorate in Doctor of Acupuncture in Chinese Medicine degree (DACM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM).

During Kuong’s off-time, he enjoys reading Chinese medical literature, watching movies, and fishing.  His other hobby includes RVing with his wife and their Alaskan malamute.
